Farewell Auntie Susanna

21 May 2018

It’s with very heavy hearts that we dedicate this month’s newsletter to the memory of Susanna Lolohea, who sadly passed away unexpectedly earlier this month.
One of our longest running volunteers at Koori Radio, Susanna was the host of the popular Fijian Australian Voice of The Community program.
A strong advocate and voice for her community, Susanna was the winner of Broadcaster of The Year at the Gadigal Awards in 2016 (pictured above). Aunt also was the joint winner of the 2016 Multicultural and Indigenous Media Awards for Journalism, and was also a CBBA Nominee many times.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
We will especially miss her kind nature, positive energy, enthusiasm for producing high quality radio and the infectious and hearty laughter that would fill the station whenever she was in the studio to do her program.
From all of us at Koori Radio and Gadigal Information Service we offer our condolences to Susanna’s friends, family and to all the loyal Fijian listeners who tuned in from across Australia to hear Susanna every Tuesday night.
Vanuinui vinaka e nomu volau Susanna!
